Shaun Donnelly

Managing Director

Shaun Donnelly is Managing Director at North Point Associates, where he leads investigative due diligence and internal investigations on behalf of institutional investors, corporations, and law firms. Drawing on more than a decade of experience as a criminal prosecutor, white-collar defense attorney, and investigator, Shaun brings a lawyer’s analytical framework to complex fact-finding across the full spectrum of misconduct — fraud, financial crimes, executive malfeasance, regulatory violations, and sensitive workplace matters.

Prior to joining North Point, Shaun was a Senior Associate on the Investigations, White Collar, and Fraud team at Hogan Lovells, where his white-collar defense and internal investigations work spanned a range of industries and matter types, including FCPA and export controls issues, False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute violations, tax evasion and money laundering allegations stemming from the Panama Papers, and disciplinary and misconduct investigations for corporate clients and private educational institutions. 

Shaun started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts, where he oversaw complex investigations and tried more than fifty jury and bench trials. In law school, he interned at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts and the FBI’s Boston field office. Prior to law school, Shaun worked as a litigation and investigations paralegal in New York, first at Covington & Burling, and then at Freshfields.

Shaun holds a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College (magna cum laude) and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
